Nouns

Classifiers

All nouns after a numeral take a classifier.

• List of some classifiers
  • cái: inanimate
  • con: animate
  • chiếc: vehicles
  • quyển/cuốn: books, journals, magazines, etc.
  • ngươì: people
  • vị: important people
    

There are many more, of course.

Number

The plural marker is những, which precedes the word.

Possession

The possessive marker is của.

Topic

The topic marker is thì.

Adjective

There is no seperate class of adjectives. Like in Chinese, verbs are used as adjectives.
