I.

савол (savâl) - question

II.

1. The letter в has two pronunciations. In most cases it is pronounced more or less like like v, but weaker (bilabial, without the lower teeth). When it comes at the end of a syllable, as in ав, ов it is pronounced like w.
2. The suffix -лар (-lar) indicates the plural. Ишчи (worker) - ишчилар (workers), хизматчи (office worker) - хизматчилар (office worker).

From this lesson onward the sentences given in this section will not be transcribed (though pronunciation of certain words, word combinations, and names will be given as needed). If some doubt or confusion about the pronunciation of a given word arises, refer to the previous lessons. The reader is also advised to start a mini-dictionary of words covered in the lessons and to memorize them.

In the sentences in this section irregularly stressed words will be marked with an apostrophe *after* the stressed syllable: бўлайди'ми? Ава'зов келади'ми? and so on
Regular stress (i.e. those that fall on the last syllable of a word) will not be shown.

Жавоб: Йўқ, мажлис эртага бўлади.
Савол: Мажлисга кимлар келади?
Жавоб: Ишчилар ва хизматчилар.
Савол: Ўртоқ Валиев ҳам келади'ми?
Жавоб: Ҳа, ўртоқ Валиев ҳам келади.
