Swedish grammar: possession

Possession is shown by adding -s. The use of an apostrophe before the s is sometimes seen on signs and so, but many Swedes consider it a death sin :-)

Barnens rum = the childrens room

Den resandes väska = the traveller's suitcase

Görans broder = George's brother

Hotellets ägare = the owner of the hotel

Veckans första dag = the first day of the week
