Scots

Scots is the dialect of Anglo-Saxon spoken in central and southern Scotland, and in parts of Northern Ireland. It is a Germanic language whose closest relative is modern English. It is in no way related (other than being an Indo-European language) to Scots Gaelic (Gaidhlig).
