Introduction

Welcome to the Project Center, this place is the core of the development process here at UniLang. You will find a complete listing of projects here and will be able to read what they are all about, what has been done, and what has to be done. You will also find instructions on how to participate in a project. So choose a project of your liking and contribute to it!

Instructions

Feel free to add your own project, in alphabetical order. The number of stars (from 0 to 5) informs about the status of the project, the more stars, the more complete/mature.

Some rules to keep in mind when adding a project:

  • Use existing entries as example
  • The list should be alphabetical
  • Keep your project descriptions short
  • Mention who started the project and when
  • Contain a link to the project page in the header

When you are just browsing, then don't forget to click on the project's title for a more extensive overview and information on how to contribute!

Projects

Basic Wordlists **** (by Proycon, 2002)

A basic wordlist containing approximately 450 words (adjectives, adverbs, verbs, and a few important nouns) is translated into as many languages as possible..

Chat Talk ** (by Expugnator, 2003-10-03)

This project consists in providing multilingual lists with the most used expressions at the Unilang Chat.

English course for German speakers * (by Junesun, 2003-11-30)

This course will teach the basics of English to German native speakers.

Exercise quiz system

A project for creating online exercises, e.g. for grammar.

Fale Português ** (by Expugnator, 2002)

A Brazilian Portuguese course for English-speakers. Also to be implemented for Spanish-speakers.

Hindi Mnemonics (by Manfalk, 2006)

A list of common Hindi words and ways to remember them through English

IPA table *** (by Geoff, 2003-12-06)

A clickable IPA chart, where each IPA character is a link to a page about this character. This is a Wiki resource, so anyone can easily contribute.

Language book * (2005)

Come and write what a perfect book about a language should be like! Don't be afraid of deatails ;-)

Language comparisons * (by Geoff, 2003-12-06)

Texts and comparisons on how various languages handle certain aspects such as politeness, gender, diminuitives, negation, ... This is a Wiki project.

Main page Translations ***** (by Proycon, 2002)

The UniLang main page is available in several languages, this is an ever on-going job of translating and correcting. This project deals with the numerous translations of the main pages and offers you the possibility to help

Main Story ** (by Expugnator, 2003)

A story which covers basic vocabulary and grammar to be translated into another languages.

Of Course *** (by Expugnator/Proycon, 2003)

This project aims to create an official set of manuals for contributing to UniLang, including a manual on how to write a language course, etc...

Sonidos del Mundo ***** (by Patricia/Proycon, 2002; Abavagada 2004-2006)

A small piece of text is translated into as many languages as possible and the same text is recorded as well. So this project provides tons of sound samples for many languages.

Text Comparer * (by davan839, 2007-12-20)

The Text Comparer compares two texts and signalises where they differ. The aim is for the student to read a text in e.g. English and translate it himself. to e.g. Croatian. The user who uploaded the text uploaded two texts, the English one, and a correct Croatian text. Text Comparer compares the student's Croatian input with the stored correct Croatian text.

Vocabulary-specific Stories * (by Expugnator, 2003)

Each Story is written according to a specific vocabulary category, like days&months, animals etc.

Voice Chat * (by Proycon, 2004)

Create or find a system able to do Chat with voice and Unicode support.
