Possession in language
From UniLang Wiki
In Persian there are two ways to express possession:
1. noun + ending (y)e + personal pronoun (ye when the word ends in a vowel)
2. noun + personal endings (they are: -am,-at, -aš, -emân, -etân, -ešân)
Example: [doxtar - daughter]
doxtare man/to/u/mâ/šomâ/ânhâ
doxtaram/at/aš/emân/etân/ešân
No.2 is the normal way of expressing possession and No.1 is only used when emphasizing, etc.
