PLURAL


PLURAL in Tatar is made according to vowel harmony by adding LAR - LӘR - NAR - NӘR depending on a word's being "hard" or "soft"

  • Stress always falls on the last syllable


-LAR [lar] - at the end of hard words AFTER:

  • hard Vowels
  • the letter"L"
  • all the Consonants except the letter "N"


-LӘR [lær] - at the end of soft words AFTER:

  • soft Vowels or
  • the letter "L"</td>

-NAR [nar] - at the end of hard words AFTER:

  • Consonants "M" or "N" or "Ŋ"


-NӘR [nær] - at the end of soft words AFTER:

  • Consonants "M" or "N" or "Ŋ"
