History
Obe was originally called Tothu, a conlang that I was devising for a conworld of a friend of mine. I was "hired" to come up with Tothu, you could say. I started work on February 2, 2008, and after about two weeks of work, on and off, I showed him my progress. Unfortunately, he felt that it was going in a direction that he didn't like. We hadn't communicated much about what he wanted out of the language, and as a result I ended up developing something that he didn't think would work for his conworld. So, that version of Tothu was scrapped. I began Tothu again, but realized that I didn't want all my previous work to go to waste. So I kept it, renamed it, and began working on a conworld to go with it. Voila.
Overview
Obe is a naturally soft language. It possesses no voiceless consonants whatsoever, and its acquisition of the voiced postalveolar fricative and the frequently used voiced dental fricative only adds to this property.
