Nhängqäkupoqh Adjectives

Jump to: navigation, search

Adjectives indicate the class and number of the noun they specify, as well as the degree in a comparison (unless it's positive).

The order of the affixes is:

noun class - number - ADJECTIVE ROOT - (comparison)

3 degrees of comparison are used:

  • comparative ("more"): mu
  • strong comparative ("much more"): ghä
  • superlative ("most"): nang

The 5 number prefixes are the same as for nouns:

  • singular: nho
  • dual: rhot
  • several: muqh
  • all: ra
  • more:

The 8 noun classes indicate the meaning of the noun:

  • person: thaz
  • animal: vüt
  • food: qhüth
  • nature:
  • object: no
  • tool: ngoza
  • feeling: thung
  • idea: phäphnö
  • property: rhogh

Every noun (except "god") belongs to one of those classes.
