Irish Gaelic

Irish (Gaeilge) is one of the official languages of the Republic of Ireland (Poblacht na hÉireann), along with English.
Irish is a Celtic language of the Goidelic branch, along with Scots-Gaelic(Gaidhlig)and Manx Gaelic (Gaelg).
It is mainly spoken in Irish speaking areas (Gaeltachtaí) in the West of Ireland.
In 1996, Ireland's first Irish speaking t.v. channel, Teilifís na Gaeltachta (TnaG) was launched, and is now called TG4.
