ʤ stands for a voiced postalveolar affricate in IPA, that is a d immediately followed by a ʒ.

It is pronounced like the J in "jump".

The same sound is written Ĝ in Esperanto, G/GE/GI in Italian and Romanian, DZS in Hungarian, DŻ in Polish, and � in Arabic.
