IPA: ø

From UniLang Wiki

It’s a rounded vowel because it uses the labial resonator (uses the lips to make the sound). It’s a close-mid vowel because the degree of aperture of the mouth is the first/minimum. It’s a front vowel because the tongue body is in the pre-palatal region.

It is written in different ways – in:
* Finnish, Estonian, German, Hungarian, Icelandic, Luxembourgish, Swedish, Turkish as ö,
* Faroese, Norwegian, Danish as ø,
* French*, Dutch, Breton as eu, oeu*,
* Kazak, Kyrghyz (Kirghiz) as ө.
