Georgian introduction
From UniLang Wiki
Georgian is spoken in the Republic of Georgia, a former USSR Republic with approximately 5 million inhabitants. It's the most important language of the Caucasian family, a group of languages whose relationship has not been well established by the scientists. The main characteristic of this group is the ergativity, a different sentence structure that threats the subject of intransitive verb with the same ending as the object of a transitive verb. Basque has this characteristic too, and this made scientists think of a relationship between Basque and Georgian, which was not confirmed later.
What captures the attention of Georgian learners the most is its alphabet, "mkhedruli" (the knights' writing). Its beautiful letters are a great incentive for those who want to learn it.
