This is the first paragraph of the first chapter of Project InterComp, a science-fiction novel I started to write in 1998:

English:

Chaninga and her father were two of the 200 invited guests, who were sitting in the big Hall of Cultures. The architecture of the building was adapted from ancient Greek or Roman temples with giant columns and marble at the entrance. The hall had the shape of a pentagon, and each of the five walls contained half a dozen niches. Every wall represented one continent, and in the niches were works of art and miniatures of famous edifices from selected nations of the respective continent. The ceiling showed pictures of the moon with its scientific stations and of artificial biospheres on Mars. Stars and the shades of space stations filled the space between the two celestial bodies.
