Fimo Yos Pronouns
From UniLang Wiki
Since there is no distinction between singular and plural or between genders in Fimo Yos, personal pronouns are not difficult:
- max first person (I, we, me, us, my, our)
- mef second person (you, your)
- pil third person (he, she, it, they, him, her, them, his, its, their)
These pronouns can only refer to humans or animals. If you want to say something like "I have a new car. It is blue.", you have to use the demonstrative pronoun instead, that is "I have a new car. This is blue."
There is another pronoun, which is only used to refer to a 3rd person within the same subject or object: nex.
pil, on the other hand, can only refer to complete subjects or objects that have been mentioned in the same or a previous sentence.
The following examples illustrate the difference between pil and nex. The * marks the antecedent of pil or nex, i.e. the person it refers to.
- Nam xu Xom [pi lof Meli]* ki fiya pil.
