The following simple grammar rules are sufficient to describe anything in Fimo Yos:

1. Global Word Order Rule:
The sentence starts with the predicate.
If there is a complement with a predicate, this complement stands at the end of the sentence.

2. Local Word Order Rule:
Within a constituent (predicate, subject, object etc), the more general thing stands before its specification. This is like in Romance language, where the adjective comes after the noun it specifies.
At the end of a constituent, there can be a relative clause, which must be written within the "bracket particles" loy and yol.

3. Constituent Particle Rule:
The subject follows the particle xu, the object follows the particle ki, an adjunct / oblique (specifying time or space) follows the particle pi, and the complement with a predicate follows the particle ne.

4. Sentence Type Rule:
Questions end with the particle la', exclamations with the particle so, affirmative sentences without such particles.

5. Conjunction Rule:
Enumerations are expressed by using the particle nu ("and") or fe ("or") in front of every item. So you say and Mary and John instead of John and Mary.

6. Part of Speech Rule:
Everything that is not such a particle can be considered a verb.

There are no articles, no verb conjugations, no declension of adjectives or nouns, no cases, no genders and no distinction between singular and plural.
