Consonants

There are 17 consonants, each having a partuicular sound depending on the context:

Consonantal Groups

Inside a word, there are some restrctions about consonants fllowing other consonants. Thus, some rules apply here. The presented groups are premitted inside a word:

  • p + {f, s, l, r}
  • b + {l, r}
  • m + {p, b, n, l}
  • f + {p, b, l, r}
  • t + {th, s, l, r}
  • d + {v, l, r}
  • n + {m, t, d, s, c, g}
  • s + {p, b, m, t, d, n, l, c, g}
  • l + {p, b, m, f, v, t, d, n, s, z, c}
  • r + {p, b, m, f, v, t, d, n, th, dh, s, z, l, c, g}
  • c + {v, s, l, r}
  • g + {l, r}
  • h + {p, m, t, n, c}

Besides that, consonants may also be doubled inside a word.

Strength

Each consonant is part of one of three sequencies of strength. This is useful to form the future tense of the verb.

The letters Z, Dh, L, and R do not have a specific strength.
