Greetings depend on two or three factors, the degree of formality, the region, and often the time of the day.
---Formally---
until noon: Добро утро (A Good morning)
ca. 11:00-18:00: Добър ден (A Good day)
from 6 pm: Добър вечер (A Good evening)
---Informally---
Здравей (Hello)
---Very Informally---
Здрасти (Hi) (pronounced as in English)
---miscellaneous---
how are you: Как сте (with polite/plural you)
how are you: Как си (with informal you)
how's it going Как върви (how's it going)
(All of these require an answer - Добре (I'm well), Горе-долу (somewhat) eta. and a polite response:
and how are you: А вие как сте (with polite/plural you)
and how are you: А ти как си (with informal you)
on the phone: Ало
when inviting: Заповядайте (welcome),
Моля, влезте (please, come in) or
Чувствайте се у дома си (make yourselves at home with formal/plural you)
Чувствайте се у дома си (make yourselves at home with informal you)
