Azeri verbs

The nucleus of the Azeri verb is the root, which doubles as the second person singular imperative:
gəl - "come"
oxu - "read"
All other forms of the verb are derived from this root by the addition of suffixes.
Infinitive - suffix -m2K (see this page regarding vowel/consonant harmony):
gəlmək - "to come"
oxumaq - "to read"
A variety of suffixes exist to show tense, mood, passive/reflexive and so on. To these are added the different forms of the auxiliary verb "to be" to show person and number.
The verb "to be" is conjugated thus:
Present tense
I am -(y)-am,-əm
You are -san,-sən
He is -dır,-dir,-dur,-dür
We are -(y)-ıq,-ik,-uq,-ük
You (pl) are -sız,-siz,-suz,-süz
They are -dırlar,-dirlər,-durlar,-dürlər
Past tense
I was idim
You were idin
He was idi
We were idik
You (pl) were idiniz
They were idilər
