Бешинчи дарс. Lesson 5.

I.

бораман (bâraman) - I will go
борасан (bârasan) - you will go
боради (bâradı) - he will go
борамиз (bâramız) - we will go
борасиз (bârasız) - you will go
боради(лар) (bâradı[lar]) - they will go
бугун (bugun) - today
далага (dalaga) - to the field (answer to the question "to where"?)
уйга (uyga) - home(ward) ("to the house")
бешинчи (beşinçi) - fifth

II.

1. The Uzbek sound о is somewhat like the long a in hall (American pronunciation).
2. The Uzbek г sound is pronounced with a slight palatalization.
3. The dative case (motion towards an object) is formed with the suffix -га: уйга, далага (for more details about this suffix see lesson 20, part II)

III.

Сиз бугун далага борасизми? (Sız bugun dalaga bârasızmı) - Are you going to the field today?
Биз бугун далага борамиз (Bız bugun dalaga bâramız). - We are going to the field today.
Сен уйга борасанми? (Sen uyga bârasanmı) - Are you going home?
Мен уйга бораман. (Men uyga bâraman) - I'm going home.
Обид бугун далага борадими? (Âbit bugun dalaga bâradımı) - Is Obid going to the field today?
У бугун далада боради. (U bugun dalada bâradı) - He's going to the field today.
Гулсум уйга борадими? (Gulsum uyga bâradımı) - Is Gulsum going home?
У уйга боради. (U uyga bâradı) - She's going home.

Note: Questioning sentences add -ми (mı) to the end.
