The Russian language makes use of three genders:

  • male: мужской род
  • female: женский род
  • neutrum: cредний род

Male nouns end on consonants, й and some of the nouns ending on ь.

Female nouns end on: , , -ия and some of the nouns ending on ь.

Neutrum nouns end on: , (-ье), ие and мя
