Tense and Aspect
Tense and aspect can be expressed with particles at the end of a sentence. Those particles are left out if a distinction is not necessary or given by context.
- pluperfect: wendhéw (had done)
- past: single action wénths'är' (was doing), repeated action wéndhyoth (used to do), permanent state wéndhäns' (did/was)
- present: single action sánr's'är' (is doing), repeated action sánr'yoth (often does), permanent state sánr'äns' (does/is)
- future: action äýshär' (will be doing), permanent state äýzäns' (will do/be)
- future present: äyzéw (will have done)
Mood
Mood is expressed with other facultative particles at the end of a sentence.
Indicative is the default mood. Imperative is for commands, subjunctive for hypothesis and the like, optative for hopes and wishes.
- indicative: uth
- imperative: ath
- subjunctive: unr
- optative: uzuânh
Negation
Negation is expressed with a suffix attached to the verb it negates. If it negates a topic, origin or destination, the negation suffix is attached to the first word of that phrase after the usual sentence part and definiteness markers.
The negation suffix is -yans'.
