Portuguese possessive pronouns
From UniLang Wiki
This are the possessive pronouns in portuguese. The form before the slash is the masculine form, while the one after the slash is the feminine form:
| Singular | Plural | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| First person | meu/minha | nosso/nossa | |
| Second person | teu/tua | vosso/vossa | |
| Third person | seu/sua | seu/sua | |
Here are some notes about the possessive pronouns in Portuguese:
1 - Possessive pronouns are generally used before the possessed thing.
2 - Remeber, the gender of the pronoun is the same as the possessed thing's, not the possessor's.
3 - If this possessed thing is in the plural form, the pronoun receives an -s.
4 - In Brazil, the second person pronouns are not used; the third person is used instead.
5 - Also in Brazil, the third person possessive pronouns are usually not in spoken language; the common form would be dele/deles/dela/delas.
