Pitch
From UniLang Wiki
Unfortunately the word "pitch" isn't perfectly defined, sometimes it is used for the actual physical frequency of a pure sound and sometimes it is used for the way the sound is perceived by the human ear. The word "tone" can be used even more ambiguously. The pitch of a pure tone is simply its frequency, which can be measured physically. Normally tones we hear are made up of several frequencies though, and we perceive them to be at some kind of "virtual pitch". It is possible to have tones which seem to have the same pitch for the listener but are made up of different frequencies.
