- U [u], Û [u:], Ü [y:]
Nso`êä has 16 consonants:
- M [m], N [n], NH [n`], NY [J], NG [N]
- V [B], Z [z], ZH [z`], JH [j\], GH [G]
- F [p\], S [s], SH [s`], CH [C], KH [x]
After a short vowel, fricatives become affricates:
- PH [p_h], TS [ts], TSH [t`s`], CCH [cC], KKH [kx]
The 16th consonant is the glottal stop [?], written `.
In combination with a glottal stop, some letters change their pronunciation:
- `M [b], `N [d], `NH [d`], `NY [J\], `NG [g]
Glottal stop plus fricative or affricate becomes affricate.
