MediaWiki is the name of the software that runs UniLang, Wikipedia.org and Symbolproject.org, and Disinfopedia, to name a few. It was written in PHP, specifically for Wikipedia's (and WikiMedia) needs, based on the original UseMod software written by Ward Cunningham.
