Klingon Adjectives

Adjectives (words that describe nouns, like big, happy, slow, hot) don't exist in Klingon. Instead they are replaced by verbs (be big, be happy, etc). Verbs like these -I call them adjective-verbs - can be used immediately after a noun in order to describe it.

vaj yoH Brave warrior
vaj Warrior
yoH be brave

vengmey tIn the big cities
vengmey cities
tIn be big

The verb rover -qu' (emphatic) can be used with adjective-verbs. Usually, it is translated as "very"

tuq mach Small house

tuq machqu' Very small house
tuq house

mach be small

Last thing. The Type 5 Noun suffixes (Daq in, vo' from, etc) can be added to the adjective-verb.

tug machDaq In the small house

tug machqu'Daq In the very small house

And that concludes the Adjectives page
