g stands for a voiced velar stop in IPA.

It is pronounced like the G in "good".

The same sound is usually written G in the Latin alphabet and Г in Cyrillic.
In Greek it is written ΓΚ, because Ancient Greek Γ /g/ became /ɣ/ or /�?/.
