b stands for a voiced bilabial stop in IPA.

It is pronounced like the B in "buy".

The same sound is usually written B in the Latin alphabet and Б in Cyrillic.
In Ancient Greek it was written B, while in Modern Greek it is written ΜΠ because /b/ has become /v/.
