inspiration: Chinese (grammar), Spanish (pronunciation), Japanese (subj/obj particles)

Originally, I wanted to create a language that combines the simple grammar of Chinese, the simple pronunciation of Spanish and English vocabulary. This language was called Simp-Lan ("simple language"). While I elaborated the language, I realized the grammar became illogical and complicated. So I gave up the Chinese word order. In February 2003, I restarted from scratch to create what is now Fimo Yos. I created a few simple grammar rules sufficient to express complex texts. The original version of Fimo Yos was called LAN SIMP, using the same pronunciation and mostly the same vocabulary as Simp-Lan. A fellow UniLanger convinced me to get rid of consonant clusters, which are difficult to pronounce for some speakers. So I developped the current syllable structure of Fimo Yos. The vocabulary was chosen at random rather than from English and other languages.

Fimo Yos is easy to write, easy to pronounce and has a simple grammar. It is not a coincidence that Fimo Yos means "easy/simple language".  ;-)
