Table of Contents

Five Pillars and a Magazine

UniLang consists of five important aspects, which we call pillars, each has its own distinctive color which can be found throughout the website. The main menus are ordered according to these five pillars:

  1. Organization - All formal aspects of UniLang fall under this category, including our member administration.
  2. Language Resources - A vast amount of language resources, such as on-line courses, grammar references, pronunciation guides, phrasebooks, dictionaries, etc.. fall under this category
  3. Communication - This category houses sections that enable our member to communicate with each other and learn and teach about languages together. Our Forum and our Chat are the most important aspect of this category.
  4. Development - This category is like a big construction bay, here there are several "Centers" where material can be produced and translated. An important core of this is the Wiki System, which enables everybody to edit pages.
  5. Gadgets - Here the focus is on extra gadgets, which do often not directly relate to language, but enhance the feeling of community.

The menu, representing the pillars

Last, but certainly not least, UniLang has its own E-zine, called Babel Babble, an on-line magazine that releases interesting news and articles on a monthly basis.

We will take a deeper look into each of these pillars, as well as into Babel Babble.

A Multilingual Website

It probably comes as no surprise to you that the UniLang site itself is multi-lingual in many ways.
