Of Course: Manuals on how to contribute to UniLang

Introduction

UniLang greatly depends on the contributions of its' members. This project unites a set of manuals that explain how to contribute in a particular area.

This page is only available in English because it would be way too difficult to get it translated into all languages.

Note that any contributions you submit to us will be licensed under the UniLang Public License, by contributing you agree this this, unless explicitly notified otherwise.

The UniLang Wiki: The easiest and fastest way to contribute

If what you want to contribute consists mainly out of text (such as a grammar reference), and is not a vocabulary list or phraselist, then the most suitable platform for making contributions is the UniLang Wiki.

The Wiki is a big encyclopedia like set of pages that are publicly viewable by everybody, but moreover, they are also publicly EDITABLE by everybody. This results in a very efficient and fast system. The word Wiki comes from the Hawaiian "wiki wiki" meaning fast, it is perfectly suitable for a system where one can rapidly create pages which can in turn be edited by everybody else.

Contributing to the wiki is very easy. When in the wiki, you can click "Edit this Page" on any page and then will be presented a form for editing the page content, you will need no extra software whatsoever. This content is written a special and easy Wiki Markup Language, which is a lot easier than HTML. You can read all details about the Wiki Markup language by clicking the link. You can also read more instructions on editing a wiki page.

Contents

Of Course is currently in it's initial stage and contains the following manuals, manuals are in PDF format and can be read with Adobe Acrobat Reader, Ghostview and others:

Any other contributions can be made by submitting your HTML, PDF or TXT file to contribute@unilang.org, we encourage you NOT to use programs like Microsoft Word and Frontpage. For HTML, Netscape/Mozilla composer is most suitable (or even better, write it by hand if you can)
